Colors

This last Saturday we went with some of Matt's family to the Colors concert. Matt and I saw them when we live in St George and loved them. Since then we have been to many concerts. A couple of years ago they retired from singing to have families and real jobs, but have come back the last two years to do a concert. They are so fun to watch and do a great job. They make up song and one even raps to words that they get from the audience. This year was they had some new songs and brought in some other guys to play piano, drum, guitar and bass. They were all amazing and really talented.

Wahooo

Ethan just went to bed without his binky. This is big. He always has it. He didn't even cry. OH happy day!!!

I was outside digging up our fence in the front yard and this is how I saw Ethan after I removed the pole. (Yes I took down the fence all by myself. O.k I had the help of the neighbor guy to pull out 3 of the 5 poles. But I did the rest. Matt has been crazy busy and I wanted the fence gone so I did it myself. He did help a little he took down part of one fence and took out 3 poles but I did the rest.) He loved playing in the hole and would scream if Trey even got near it. He played in that hole for about a half hour.

Outside playing

One day I was outside working on the fence (pictures to come later) and the boys were outside playing with the hose. They were having so much fun and the next thing I knew Ethan was inside the bucket filled with water. The kid loves water.

Preschool

Last Tuesday was Trey's first day of preschool. I am just doing it with some ladies from the neighborhood and we each take a turn. I would love not to have to teach but can't afford to put him in a real preschool. So I guess I will take my turn. I will only have to do it every 6 weeks so it can't be to bad. Trey likes it and it is good for him to have to learn from somebody other then mom. It is structured so that helps. On his first day he cried because for singing time they each got to pick a song and his song he wanted to sing was the "Transformers" song. His teacher that day said that he could because nobody else knew it so he got upset. She talked him into singing "head, shoulder, knees and toes". He now knows not to choose that song and will choose a song that every one knows.

Self Reliant

Monday Ethan and I were both sick. So around 10:30 am we laid down for a nap. I knew Trey could entertain himself for a little while so we could rest. When I woke up I found that Trey had made him a sandwich all by himself. He made him a cheese sandwich with no cheese. so basically it was 2 pieces of bread with miracle whip on it. Gross I know but we were out of cheese or I am sure he would have tried to cut him some cheese himself. He also got himself a sippy cup of water and he was good to go. I am thankful that he is self reliant but it is a little scary to see how fast he is growing up and not needing me as much. It is nice but a little sad.

Happy Birthday Trey

Yesterday was my little boys birthday and we celebrated all weekend long. Saturday we had a cousin swim/birthday party. We then came home and opened presents for Lizzy and Trey. Sunday we went for a drive and had a picnic in the back of the truck up by snow bird lodge. Then Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Phil, Uncle Ron, Aunt Marcelle and LeStar came up and had a BBQ with us. Trey got money, clothes, toys and a scooter. Matt made a transformer cake that Trey wanted. Trey told Matt that he wanted Blackout with army guys shooting it and it blackout blowing up. I had to tell Trey that it was a birthday cake so we couldn't have blackout blow up that it was suppose to be a happy cake. I'm not quite sure we got a "happy" cake but he did get his army guys and blackout on it.
