Happy 1st birthday

Ethan's first birthday was on Wednesday. I can't believe my baby is one. Time sure flies. Last Sunday we had Matt's family over for cake and ice cream. Ethan actually did pretty good with his cake. It took a while for him to get messy. He was to busy watching every one else. On his birthday we went to Salt Lake to run errands and then went to Zoo lights with Grammy Bates. The zoo was a lot of fun. They have these glasses if you look through them at the light they make snowmen appear. They had a lot of fun animal lights. We weren't able to see many animals but the cougars and the Amur leopard were really active. Ethan loved the lights and actually stayed in the stroller for most of the time. After that we went to Chili's for dinner.

The big 3-O

Yesterday was Matt's birthday and he turned the big 30. We had such a fun day. He was able to take the day off from both jobs, so we were able to spend the whole day as a family. I think birthdays should be a special day. They shouldn't be like every other day. So we woke up and dinked around the house, ate breakfast and then went to the mall. We saw Santa Clause and looked for the boys shirts for their pictures. (yea I know not to exciting)After that we went up to Hill Air Force base and went to the museum. Trey is really into army guys.(all armed forces are army guys to Trey, I know that its a big deal to call the air force people army guys but to a 3 year old. it doesn't matter). We had fun looking at all the planes .Trey had to have his picture taken by every one. He was a little disappointed that he didn't get to see an army guy but living up here we see them all the time. After that we went home and had Cafe Rio. Matt did some homework and then went and looked at Christmas lights. The boys didn't enjoy that so much but I did. After driving around for only about 15 min we went and got ice cream. Matt can't hardly go a day without ice cream. All in all it was a great day being able to spend it together.

Date with Perfect clothes

We babysat Matt's cousins for a week while the parents went on a cruise. We had so much fun the kids are great and Treyson loves them. On Wednesday we were watching dancing with the stars, I look up and Krystal has a dress on and said that Trey and her are going on a date and they needed to get on PERFECT clothes. So Trey goes and finds his perfect clothes. I think the picture explains his perfect clothes. Then they had to "smoke"( I am not sure where that came from) -kiss each other. The girl was first and then Trey had to do it. I think they learned that part from sleeping beauty.

tagged!!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog for game rules/details

1. This is going to a little different. I just read Bonnie's post and she had inspired me. so I will do a little of both.
To start, I am thankful that I live in the times that I do. Yes the world is getting more difficult. but I don't know if I could handle living in the times of the pioneers. What would I do with out all the medical advances. I am so thankful for my families health and for the researchers who find medicines that help make your live better. I am thankful for being able to have insurance to help with medical bills. Yes we have had a really trying month with Treys health. He officially has asthma. Not that I am excited about it but now we know what to do to help him. Last week he had more breathing problems so I took him to the Dr. and now we have medicine to help. I have to say it could be a lot worse but I know this is a trial that I can handle and that with this medicine he can live as normal life as possible and be able to be a boy and not have to slow down for anything.

2. Before I was married I use to love big groups of people. The more the better and I could go days with little sleep. I never wanted to be home just ask my parents. I wanted to be out doing things, going places, just being with people. Now that I am married I love my sleep and I don't like big groups of people. I like being home with my family. ( I do still like going out and doing things but I now like to be home, maybe that's its a lot easier then taking my boys out).

3. I am a quiet person. I use to think that I was outgoing and not shy but lately I have come to realize that I am very much so. I don't have a lot to say unless I really know you and then sometimes I still don't have much to say. I have a hard time talking to people that I don't know I can say hi easily but to have a conversation is very uncomfortable to me.

4. I use to think that I was a very patient person, but that is not true. I am trying to work really hard on that. My patient is very limited when I am stressed and I get stressed really easily.

5. I am Stay at home MOM and I love it. I didn't realize how hard it is. I have only been able to be home this year. So days I would love to be at work but over all I love being able to be with my boys. I love watching them grow. They are so full of energy.

6. I am thankful for the gospel. I am thankful that I have a Heavenly father that blesses me and that KNOWS me and loves me unconditionally. I am thankful that I am the temple blessings and that I can be a family FOREVER. I am thankful for everything in my life. I am thankful for my trials that they make me grow and be a better person. I am thankful for the Savior and for all that he has done for me.

I tag everyone that I know that hasn't already done this so that at this wonderful time of year they can take a moment and reflect on who they are.

Halloween

Trey really wanted to Ethan and him to be a ninja turtle for Halloween. I was going to make them but after the couple of weeks we had, I didn't get them made. So at the last minute we found these costumes, but I think they turned out cute. Ethan even liked his costume and wore it the whole day.

Roll with the punches

Lets not repeat this week. This week was horrible.! Spending 3 1/2 days confined to a hospital room is not my idea of a good week. How could it get worse you say. It can!!Today was looking great until we woke up. Yes we were able to sleep in and catch up a little on sleep since we have been sleep deprived. But we were going to get up early and try to get somethings done around the house since we got a little behind this week. Oh coarse things don't ever go as planned. I guess you have to roll with the punches. I was able to do 1 of 4 loads of laundry. But there was a whole list of things to do before we go frolic with Matt's family. Time sure flies and things always take longer when you have a lot to do. We did make it to the fall frolic at Jeff and Angie's house. It was suppose to be outside but of coarse it was cold and rainy. We were still able to have some fun inside. We enjoyed food, family and a pinata. Then in the middle I had to take Trey to the doctor for a follow up. While I was waiting for the Dr to come back with some medicine. Trey throws up in my lap and on the floor. The Dr said it was probably from the medicine he was on. So we head back to the party. While sitting there he throws up all over me again. So we decide we better head for home. (45 min away). Trey then throws up 5 or 6 times in the car.(Luckely it didn't smell like throw up) We get home he throws up more. I call the Dr and he tells me its probably the flu. The Dr calls in some medicine so hopefully he will get over it fast. We are suppose to go to Cedar this coming week. I hope the rest of us don't get sick. I feel so bad for him. To be sick with 2 different things in the same week. He is being such a trooper. Luckly he is able to sleep. (I am so sorry if any of Matt's family gets it. I feel horrible if they do.)I HOPE tomorrow looks up!

Crappy croup

How lucky are we! We just got to spend 3 days in the Hospital with Treyson. Monday he was not feeling good at all. (Usually when Trey is sick you wouldn't be able to tell.)He was whiny and he would just sit there and cry telling me he doesn't feel good. During nap time he was breathing hard but I just thought that it was because he was stuffy. Matt came home from work and took one look at Trey and said we need to take him to the doctor. He was breathing fast and having a hard time breathing. So at 7:30 we ended up the doctors. After 3 hours they admitted us to the hospital with croup and we needed to stay the night and get breathing treatments. But no we couldn't just spend 1 night in the hospital we had to stay 3 nights. After many breathing treatments he was getting better. He would do fine during the day but at night he couldn't keep he oxygen above 85 without help. He loved all the attention. His nurses just thought he was the best because he would do whatever they asked without a fight. He had to have some snot sucked out of his nose so they could test it, they were ready for a fight. he did awesome. He even had a cna buy him a treat because she thought that he was so m"precious". Lucky us he now possibly has asthma.

WALKING

Sorry I don't know how to rotate the pictures

Yeap, my 9 1/2 month old is walking. He took his first real steps last night. He can't stand without holding on to anything but he can take a few steps. Oh boy, I am in for it now. He can get to what ever he wants now but with him walking he can soon keep up with Trey. Those two are trouble anyways. They can't leave each other alone. The only time Trey wants him around is when its nap time. Trey then wants to play with him. Other than that he wants nothing to do with him. Ethan is my terror. Everyone tells me that he is not trouble. Try spending a day with him! He will pull a book of the book shelf and wait for me to tell him no, he smiles and pulls another book off. He will then go over to Trey and pull his hair until Trey cries then he laughs and lets go. If Trey is playing army guys on the end table he will crawl over and knock them down.

What a day

Friday was a day. We are trying to sell our stackable washer dryer that was in the house when we bought it. I was on the phone in the garage with a guy trying to answer questions. The boys we playing in their room. I came up stairs to Ethan in the hall playing with poop. His diaper had came off in his room and of coarse that is when he had to poop. Luckily he had a Binky in his mouth or who knows what would have happened, he likes to eat anything and everything. So I grab him and put him in the tub to wash him off. I get him out to let the gross water go down and then I was going to give him a bath. While he was standing there he decides he is going to pee on the rug. So I get him cleaned up and I need to hurry and get ready before the guy comes to look at the washer. So I shut their bed room door so they wouldn't go in. I hurried and get ready then I go to clean up the mess. The bedroom door is locked. I can't get in. I tried everything. 2 hours later I finally take the handle off and am able to get in. I cleaned the mess up. Then later that day Ethan dumps water all over the floor, pulls the books of the book shelf. My sweetest husband get home from a long day of working 2 jobs and says he will take the kids and I can do whatever I want. Not much to do at 9:30 at night. But he was great I was able to watch a girl show since I never get to see those anymore, while taking a bath, eating popcorn and drinking a diet coke that he brought home to me. I love him. He is so great. It ended up being a great night.

Happy Day

Yesterday was the best day. I was looking at my junk e-mail. Their was a snapfish email that said pictures would be deleted in 10 days unless I ordered. I don't use snapfish. I used it once a while ago to upload pictures but since had found better deals with winkflash. So I decided that I should look and see what pictures were going to be deleted. O happy day they were pictures of Trey's 2nd birthday. The ones I lost when my computer crashed. I have been so sad that I didn't have them but I couldn't justify spending $1000 to retrieve those pictures. I lost a ton but those where the only ones that I truly wanted. I yelled for Matt to come see. I was so excited I quickly ordered a CD of them and its on its way. I had prayed that we would be able to get them. Nobody had copies of them. I guess the moral of the story is that blessing and answers come when God wants them to. Not necessarily on our time.

Look-alike Meter

We know how to make kids that are equally mixed. A lot of people say that our kids look like us both and it is hard to tell who they look like more. According to the Look-alike Meter the have the right mixture.

More Funny Trey things

One early early morning Trey woke up at 5:00 crying I need to read riptures (scriptures) and kept crying we tried to convince him we would read them to him when we woke up but he insisted on it then. So Matt opened the scriptures and I quoted on. That satisfied him for a minute. He went back to bed 5 minutes later he came back in and said prayers. We do this routine nightly and he makes sure we do, but the night before we forgot to read scriptures. So he made sure of it .

Then one Sunday he wanted to get cars out and play with them. We told him he had to wait until after the Sacrament. He looks over at a picture of Jesus and says "Jesus wants you to get the cars out for me to play with."

Today Grandma Bates came to visit and brought Treys cousins to play. They made a HUGE mess so while cleaning up Trey says to Grandma I'm to busy to clean up I'm drinking water I'm to busy.
Earlier today while he was watching cartoons he could clean up because he was to busy sleeping. He had woken up about 1/2 hour before and has been bouncing off the walls.

TREY AND ETHANS FIRST CONCERT

Last night we were able to see our favorite band do a reunion concert. Colors came out and did a concert again. Matt and I saw them when we were first married at Dixie. We have loved them since. We had asked Matt's mom to babysit. We were going to go with his 2 bothers and my sister in law but things fell through and so Matt mom and Dad ended up coming with us so we brought the boys along. Treyson loved it and was dancing. Ethan slept the whole time. It was a complete sold out concert. I don't know of anyone who heard them and didn't love them. There concerts are the best. They are so funny. One of the members does a rap to words that the audience gives him. Yesterday the words were- Superman, Heber, Nacho, Serendipitous, and honeydew. He did it. www.colorsmusic.com.

First haircut

Ethan just got his first haircut. He had a little mulet going on. (Party in the back business in the front, actually party everywhere.) Matt cut his hair. It ended up being shorter then we wanted. I almost cried. He looked so different. At least it will grow back(hopefully fast). Ethan actually did pretty good for having hair clippers used on him. I wasn't even there to help hold him.

Swear word!

Thanks to the wonderful movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. (The original movie.)Trey just said his first swear word "Damn" Yes I let my son watch that movie. He loves turtle what can I say. Matt and I couldn't help but laugh, trying not to let him see. I just hope that he doesn't repeat it. What kind of parents are we?

Flowers or Weed

flowers for mom.

FLOWER OR WEED. To a 3 year old it is a beautiful flower that he picked for his mom. He has so much joy on his face every time he picks a dandelion for me. Even tho its an ugly weed I see the beauty in it. Trey brings me these flowers almost every day. He is so excited to bring them to me. I just can't help smiling. He is such a sweet boy. One day I hadn't gotten dressed yet my hair a mess and feeling not so good about myself. ( ethan was about 2 months old, so those that have kids know what I am talking about) Out of the blue he came to me gave me a big hug and said "Mommy your a princess" I made him repeat it because I didn't even think he knew what a princess was. We don't get to watch those show cuz their GIRL shows. I had to take a picture right then so I will also remember that we are all beautiful, especially in the eyes of our children.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great Labor day weekend. We went camping with Matt's family(Aunt, Uncles, and cousins). There was about 35 of us. This is a annual trip. We go camping Memorial and Labor day. This tradition has been around forever. We have such a great time being together and enjoying nature. Treyson and Ethan both loved the dirt and getting to be outside ALL DAY. Ethan didn't like it when we came home and couldn't be outside. He would cry everytime we would come inside. This year we had a little store. The kids got to earn coins by helping out around camp. They had to help clean and do other misc. things to earn coins. The adults loved having servants and the kids loved earning the money. The grand price was worth 25 coins. It was bought within 2 or so hours of the store opening. All the aunt brought stuff for the store. We had to practically give things away the last day. The kids didn't mind:).

Turning 3

Treyson had a great birthday. He had pickles and chocolate for breakfast, played, had a nap and went to Cherry Hill. We didn't think that we would be able to go to Cherry Hill. Right before Matt got home a storm came thru with lighting and thunder. Trey sat by the window with the saddest look on his face. My heart broke thinking that we wouldn't be able to go. We had talked about it forever. But by the time we were ready to go it had blown over. The weather ended up being perfect and it wasn't crowded at all. Grandpa and Grandma Bates, Randy and Brittnee came and us. even Ethan went down a water slide. Sunday we had a BBQ with Matts family. Matt decorated the cake and did a great job. He had made all of Treys cakes. Last years was great too. But we don't have any pictures because our computer crashed.;( Trey loved his cake if you couldn't tell. I can't believe he is 3

Trey

Where do I begin. I had just one of those mother moments. Matt was at work and we were outside. I like to go outside at night when it is not so hot, the boys love it. Trey wants to be outside playing with friends and that way they can come over and play and keep an eye on them since we don't know them very well yet. Well his friend from across the street asked to come over to play with Trey and our dog so of course I let him (it helps Trey not miss Matt so much). Then his friend asked if Trey could go over to his house to play-that's when I had my moment. Trey has never really go over to play at a friends just for fun all by himself. He has played with cousins and his friend Cameron other then when he was babysat. This was the first time I has to let go and be a kid without mom watching over him. Watching him cross the street with his friend I realized its only going to get worse. I went inside and watched from the window keeping an eye on him but giving him his freedom of not having mom tell him to play nice. I missed him not being around. My house was so quite. When it was time to come home he cried. I can't believe he is turning in to a big boy he's not my baby any more. He is becoming so independent. I have to step back and let him grow.
SOME OF THE FUNNY THINGS HE SAYS.
I should really write this down, I don't remember all the thing but I am sure my list will grow
When he doesn't listen he get things taken away. We tell him he lost his chance. His reply help me find my chance I want my chance help me find it.
Mommy I want you I need you.
We are in bed sleeping and he comes in "Mommy I'm crying I need a girl." What girl "you mommy I need you". We ask why are you crying because I need my mommy-why do you-need your mommy because I'm crying. This goes on and on.
I was taking to Matt and Trey yells "I'm talking to mommy"
Mommy repeated over and over and over again finally mommy talk to me!
When Matt takes out his contacts Trey has to do it also. Tonight he comes running in to me "I can See"
We were talking to Trey about Abby(our dog) we were saying the Abby was a good girl and he said "Abby a boy dog"We tried to tell him that she was a girl his reply"Santa Clause changed him to a boy dog"
Toys are now classified as boy toys and girl toys. He can't play with girl toys. Same with movies. He can't watch girl movies. I tried to get him to watch Cinderella but that was out of the question. I did however get him to watch to watch Beauty and the Beast thats because it has a big monster(beast)

All the kids

This is a picture of all the cousins on my side.

Aug 15th

Well I feel like a single mom. Matt got a part-time job working at wonderful K-Mart. He did this so I could stay home and be a mom. I feel so bad for him. He doesn't have a single minute to relax. He works full time at Hogle Zoo, part-time at K-Mart, donates plasma and is going to school. plus helping me figure out this vinyl so we can have another job. (hopefully it will take off) All this so I can be a stay at home mom. What a wonderful husband. Oh then when he has a free minute he is either doing things around our new house or spending time with out boys. Hopefully when he is done with school next November things will be better and he will only have to work one job.
So last week he was trying to put a fan up in the office and drilled his hand and now it is infected:( so he can't donate plasma. So I guess the positive side is I will see him a little more for the next two weeks.
Trey is turning 3 on friday. I can't believe it. He keeps telling me that he wants two parties a turtle (ninjia turtle)party and a pirate party but he wants a transformer cake(the cake changes daily). So we are going to Cherry Hill on his birthday to go swimming and then on Sunday have a bbq with family. We were going to have a party but we don't know anyone here to well and his best friend moved to Omaha so we will see what we can come up with.

Family Weekend

We had a fun weekend. It was a weekend full of family and fun. Friday Matt's cousin had all the young cousins together for a day in the water. She had a waterslide, swimming pool, and water balloons. The kids had a great time and didn't want to go home. The kids even found a frog in the backyard. Then Sunday my brother blessed their little girl. That was a first time in over a year that my family was together. My parents came to see our new house and brought 2 off the cousins to have a sleepover. Trey thought that was the best. He has been a little lonely since we moved up here and his best friend moved to Omaha. On Monday some of us went to the Zoo. 5 hours is a long time at the Zoo but we had fun.

Trey was a little nevous but Ethan he loved the water. Then on the 24th we went to the wonderful parade :)we went ice blocking at the canyon park. Everyone had a blast. Trey did good. They had trains going. The two older cousins tried to see how many ice blocks they good ride on at one time the record is five. They would have done more but thats all we had.

I finally became a blogger

I finally fell into the trap of being a blogger. I thought what great fun it would be to be able to have a place to share my favorite things with friends and family.
