Easter

We had a great Easter. This was the first time in our nine years of marriage that we have been home for Easter we are normally in St George but because Easter was so early we decided to postpone the trip until April. So this was our first year coloring eggs and the boys had a blast. Treys hand were blue by the time we were done. He didn't think that he needed to use the egg dipper. By the time we were done most of the eggs were cracked.

The Easter bunny brought lots of candy and some clothes. He even brought Trey army flip flops and the bunny even brought camo eggs.

We went to Grammy and Grandpa Bates house for yummy dinner and an egg hunt. There were eggs everywhere. The uncles hide the eggs and tried to find the best spots to hide the eggs. but the kids found all but one.

This is the egg they didn't find. It made it all the way home with us. It was hidden between the side view mirror and the drivers window. We had a joke while the guys where hiding the eggs that one of us would be driving down the road and a egg would fly out. This egg didn't fly out but made the 30 minute trip home. We didn't know it was there until half way home I look over and see the egg. We had a good laugh.

Art time

Trey writing his name for the first time ever. I had to help him with the Y and S he did the rest on his own. I wrote each letter on another piece of paper and he copied how to do it on this piece of paper. I think he did a great for never writing letters at all.
Army guy Trey colored all by himself. The first time. Normally you cant tell what he colored. I had to draw an army guy first and then he did it on his own. I am so excited.

I think Ethan got more marker on the table and him then he did on the paper.

He totally had me fooled, he did have to go in to work he just wanted to surprise me because I told him that he never does. Friends.

So right now we are having kind of a hard time. We have been in our house for 8 months and have made no real close friends. I feel so bad for Trey. Everyday he asks to play with friends. We have one little boy that lives across the street from us that he plays with once in a while. I have a hard time letting him play with him because his mom doesn't care where he is. Other then that he plays with kids at church and every other week at play group. There are kids around but none that we are really close to. I would love to be able to do things with other women in our ward but just have never been invited to and I am just not one that plans things to do if I don't really know someone. I did get invited to a girls night out tomorrow and I am excited to go to maybe make some friends but that is if Matt gets off early enough. I love where we live I just miss having friend to go do things with. It gets a little hard being with kids all day and having Matt gone all the time.

No Suprise

This is what I get when I don't keep on eye on Ethan. I was working on the computer (yes actually working on the computer not blogging) and I look up and see Ethan coloring on himself. I say his name and he looks at himself and the marker all over him and starts crying. I had to run and grab my camera because although he made a big mess I just had to have a picture. He is such a trouble maker. This morning he found a crayon and colored my bathtub. He has found several pen and luckily when he did try to color on the walls the pens didn't work. Thank goodness that this marker was washable so it was easy to clean up.

The other day I was painting the baseboards in our entry way so Matt put up a gate to keep him from coming down. Well Ethan wasn't going to have it. He started climbing the gate like a chain link fence. When he could climb it high enough he decided he was going to go under it. He only made it half way.
