St George

St George was a lot of fun. We went to Snow Canyon, swam, went to the temple and the college, swan, pizza factory, saw my friend Cassie and swam some more. Everything didn't go as planned but we had fun anyways. Matt ended up doing homework most of the time. We never saw Trey. He was to busy playing with his cousins. But we still managed to have a great time.
In Snow Canyon we played at the sand dunes and then walked to the lava caves. Ethan loved the sand as you can tell. The other kids did to but the loved being able to see the lava caves. They were a little scared thinking that there was hot lava but once we convinced them there wasn't they were excited and wanted to climb in the caves. So we found one little cave that they could do a little climbing and thought that was great.

Ethan loved the water. He was so funny he loved to jump in. He would jump in and then Matt would put him back up on the side to jump in again and he would have to make sure he was standing on the numbers that would tell how deep it was. Trey loved having his uncles throw him up in the air and into the water.

Why is it when you are really stressed your kids can feel it and are little hellions. Yesterday I was busy working on vinyl trying to get it done before the weekend so yes I was slightly neglecting my kids. Ethan only takes a 45 minute nap. Then he decides that he is going to empty out my silverware drawer, then he gets in the pantry and pulls out all the sandwich bags out of the box. Then after I clean that up he finds the big open bag of goldfish crackers and dumps them on the floor. So I let him play in it for a minute while I hurray and finish what I was working on by the time I was done there were crackers everywhere. Lucky for me I had 2 helpers cleaning it up. So bed time hits and the two kids wont go to sleep. I sat in there room for a good half hour to keep Ethan from screaming then I give up and let Ethan screams for another 20 minutes. Finally I go back in there and sit for another 15 minutes and he finally falls asleep. Trey in the mean time keeps coming out of his room, trying to sleep on the floor and what ever else he can do to stay awake.
Today was so much better other then Trey waking up at 6:45. Ethan took a 3 1/2 hour nap. Tonight they went to bed perfect. I did the nightly routine laid them both down and walked out of the room not one single peep from them.

Sweet funny boy

On Saturday we were just hanging at home doing some projects around the house. Matt had to go to work that night and we were talking to Trey about it. Trey didn't want him to go to work.We told him that dad had to go to work to earn money. Trey told us that he had money and ran to his piggy bank and got some money out and put it in a bag for us, and told us that he was sharing his money with us. What a sweet boy.
On Sunday at church the ward choir was singing. He wanted me to go up there and sing with them. For any one who knows me and my family WE CAN'T SING. I told him it was for really good singers and mom was not one them. He told me he would help me sing and begged me to go up.
This weekend we are going to St George for a long needed vacation. We are so excited. I was telling Trey how we are going to St George and of all the things we are going to do there. The next morning he come in to my room with his stuffed giraffe Sam and tells me Sam wants to go to Curious George. (St George) Then today he started packing his toys for Curious George and wanted to go on a nature hike and go deer hunting with bullets while we are in St George.

Swimming Lessons

Trey just finished up his first swimming lessons on Thursday. He did really good. The last fifteen minutes they let the kids play on the toys. He was so excited he had been waiting to play. Every day he would ask.
He will now put his face under the water and he can float on his back for a few seconds.
He loved swimming lessons. I on the other half was not so happy with them. He did great but the teacher was a not the nicest lady. They have had a couple of complaints about her not being so nice to the kids. Trey didn't seem to notice that she wasn't the friendliest. On Wednesday of this week they only had one life guard that showed up on time, there was another life guard there but didn't care to do his job and left. They had to move the little kids to another pool so the life guard could watch 3 swimming classes and about 25 people doing water aerobics. About half way through the lessons 2 other life guards came in and didn't think that they needed to do their job, they thought that they could just stand there and talk to the 1 life guard on duty. At this point the kids were in the deep end and they were holding on to the side. Trey was bobbing up and down while the teacher was taking another kid out swimming and Trey let go of the side and was struggling to get the side, he was bobbing up and down and luckily there was an older kid from another class right there to grab his arm and pull him to the side since the life guards didn't seem to care. I was so mad. Later I called and talked to the lady over life guards and she agreed that the life guards weren't doing there job and actually 6 people got in trouble for it. I wasn't the only mom who called and complained another mom called to (her daughter is a life guard and knew all the rules-) The next day (last day) there were 4 lifeguards on duty and they actually did the job the way they were suppose to do their jobs. Every fifteen minutes they would rotate and not take their eyes off the kids.

Got milk.

I was downstairs doing laundry and this is what I saw when I came upstairs.
Trey decided that he would make him some chocolate milk. So the milk was on the table and Ethan decided that he wanted a drink so he climbed up on the table and helped himself. (There was a straw already on the table)I couldn't help but laugh and run and grab my camera. He sure does keep me on my toes.

Easter

We had a great Easter. This was the first time in our nine years of marriage that we have been home for Easter we are normally in St George but because Easter was so early we decided to postpone the trip until April. So this was our first year coloring eggs and the boys had a blast. Treys hand were blue by the time we were done. He didn't think that he needed to use the egg dipper. By the time we were done most of the eggs were cracked.

The Easter bunny brought lots of candy and some clothes. He even brought Trey army flip flops and the bunny even brought camo eggs.

We went to Grammy and Grandpa Bates house for yummy dinner and an egg hunt. There were eggs everywhere. The uncles hide the eggs and tried to find the best spots to hide the eggs. but the kids found all but one.

This is the egg they didn't find. It made it all the way home with us. It was hidden between the side view mirror and the drivers window. We had a joke while the guys where hiding the eggs that one of us would be driving down the road and a egg would fly out. This egg didn't fly out but made the 30 minute trip home. We didn't know it was there until half way home I look over and see the egg. We had a good laugh.

Art time

Trey writing his name for the first time ever. I had to help him with the Y and S he did the rest on his own. I wrote each letter on another piece of paper and he copied how to do it on this piece of paper. I think he did a great for never writing letters at all.
Army guy Trey colored all by himself. The first time. Normally you cant tell what he colored. I had to draw an army guy first and then he did it on his own. I am so excited.

I think Ethan got more marker on the table and him then he did on the paper.
