New Do

Last week I went to visit my great friend Bonnie for a much need hair cut. I told her I wanted something new and this is what I ended up with. I love it. It has been 10 years since I had bangs. I am getting use to them but I really like it. She also gave me some blond highlights. Before I got my hair cut I told Matt to be prepared for something new. As soon as she was done cutting it and I got in the car I called Matt and told him I was a sexy momma. Its amazing how different you feel when you get a little change in your style.

Not the best picture of me but you get the idea.
Trey took it.

I also use to use cheap hair spray and always complained about my hair never holding. So I bought some hair spray from her and I can't tell you the difference. My hair actually holds. I can actually have my hair do for two days and only do a little fix the next morning. I can't believe I waited this long to buy good hair spray!!!

Bunk Beds

This is the boys new beds. For the last 2 weeks Ethan insisted on taking a nap on Treys bed. At night he would sleep great in his crib. So we figured he was ready to move into a big boys bed. We knew we would eventually do bunk beds, but figured why not now. This bunk bed was actually Matt's when he was little. Matt added some wood to cover the frames and made the ladder, and also gave it a new paint job. The boys love it. Ethan goes to sleep great both for nap and at bed time. Once in a while he will get out but for the most part no problems. He did fall out of bed the first 2 nights so we put up a side rail but he still managed to fall out on night. But over all this has been an easy transition.

mowing the lawn

I was reading my friends blog and she had written about how she mowed the lawn for the first time(way to go) which reminded me of my lawn mowing experience I had not to long ago. Growing up my dad loved to take care of the yard (he still does). We had an immaculate yard. I never had to mow the lawn or ever pull weeds. No I wasn't spoiled. That is what my dad loved to do and plus we never had weeds seriously. I do remember going over to my friend Jill's house to help her pull her weeds just so she could play sooner. So anyways in my new house we have weeds and lots of them but that is a story for another day. Back to the mowing the lawn. Matt always is the one that takes care of our yard. I have mowed once or twice but have always done a horrible job by leaving strips of unmowed grass. So Matt ends up fixing it. Since
Matt is hardly ever home anymore and when he is he has so much going on that I decided that I would mow the lawn. On day in particular I was mowing the lawn, I couldn't get the dang thing started, it look almost 5 minutes to start it. I wasn't pulling it hard enough. So finally I get it started and its going great. I was mowing away and I had mowed 3/4 of the front yard when all of the sudden the front wheel falls off. I call Matt and asked him what to do, he tells me so I fix it or so I thought. I start mowing again and the dang things falls off again. After about 15 minutes of trying to get the wheel back on I finally did and as soon as I was done the neighbor leans over the fence and asks if I needed any help. Now he asks! I finish the front and moved on to the little strip that on the side of the drive way. I am almost done with that and I have 2 strips left and I run out of gas for the mower and we don't have any in the gas can. I called Matt and told him I was done. I am to scared to get gas in the gas can I am afraid of blowing up. So the lawn had to wait until Matt came home and could go get gas.

4th of July

The 4th was a lot of fun. We first woke up at 6:00am to get ready to go to Delta to spend the first half of the day with my family. It is a tradition to go to Delta every other year and have a big family party. We go to the parade and then go over to my sisters house and hang out do kids crafts and then go to the demolition derby. This year we went to the parade and then to my sisters for a few hours to eat and have the kids do some crafts and then we had to leave. The rest of my family minus one brother and his family stayed and went to the derby. We had to head home because Matt had to work. Luckily for me Matt's family was hanging out in Layton. While Matt went to work I went to hang out with Matt's family. Matt cousins little girl was born on the 4th so they have a little party and a BBQ. Matt's work was so slow which we knew it would be, (Who's going to order pizza and the 4th.) but it was mandatory that he worked. He only delivered one pizza . So he was able to come over and hang out with us. When it started to get dark the kids did sparklers and then everyone went to what the big firework show.

Every year Delta had the fighter jets do a fly over. My mom was worried that we wouldn't be there in time. I assured her that if we missed it that it would be ok. We see fly overs every day 2-3 times a day or more. But we made it and it was still awesome to see. I was a little caught of guard I had my back to where they flew in from. After these 4 plans flew over a big refueling tanker (i think thats what it was) flew over head and really low. I too see these on a regular basis but never as low as it was that day.

Waiting for the parade to start. Grandma made cute little bags to put all the candy in and there is a lot of candy. I think some of the adults-I won't name names had almost as much fun as the kids with the candy.

Getting glow sticks before the big firework show

I have some better pictures but my other camera battery is dead and the charger for it is in Mexico for another week with Grandma.

June

June was a busy but fun month.
First we started with a trip to Logan for a wedding.
The next day I went to Cedar with my sister-in-law to visit my parents and to let the cousins play. We had a lot of fun. They had water fights, played at the park, played at their cousins house, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in my parents backyard. Saw my friend Susy and let our kids play. (pictures of this weekend are coming)

Us at the Logan Temple
Then we had my friends from Omaha's come and visit a couple of times. This is her little girl.

Trey and Cameron

For Father's Day e tried to make Dad breakfast in bed but we weren't fast enough. Dad got up just minutes to fast. Treyson got to sing with the primary the prelude music in church. After church we went to visit with Matt's family. Heather came over for a few minutes and visited.

Hanging with Bonnie and her kids at the Gateway for Bon's birthday.

Visiting the zoo multiple times

We have been swimming with friends and with Matt's family. These pictures are at Kearn's when we went swimming with Matt's parents and Ron, Marcelle and LeStar.

Happy 9 years

Yesterday was our 9 year anniversary. I can't believe how fast it has gone. In those 9 years we moved 6 times. We have had many jobs good and bad. We have owned 2 different house. 4 different vehicles. Had 2 kids and 1 dog. With that we have had many other happy times. With the good times came some hard times. Loosing 2 wonderful Grandmas within a month of each other, the lose of our first baby and some other minor trials. But with those trials came wonderful blessings and I am so thankful that I had Matt to share it with.

Yesterday Matt and I were actually able to go on a date. This was probably the first actual date that we were able to go on just us since our last anniversary. Ethan is starting to go to Grandma and be happy. So we are hoping that he is growing out of his clingliness (sp?) and we will actually be able to have more dates.

We had so much fun. We meet Matt's mom at her work and dropped the kids off with her and then we got in the car and headed over to the Gateway. When we got in the car Matt had beautiful flowers for me. We went and had dinner, shopped, went to a movie, got ice cream and then went and picked up the kids.

Thanks hun for a great night and a wonderful 9 years. I can't wait to spend the rest of eternity with you.
I love you

What a day. This morning I sent the boys out to play in out backyard. I gave them some toys to play in the dirt. I go out to check on them and they are washing off a binky in the faucet. Whats wrong with that? Nothing except Ethan didn't go outside with a binky. He lost a binky outside a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't find it. Guess he found it.

Ethan thinks its fun to sit on the potty and try to go. The other day I was going the bathroom and Ethan comes in and tries to push me off. So I asked him if he wanted to go and immediately he is trying to pull his clothes off. So I take his diaper off and put him on the toilet. He tries to go and then gets off. I put his diaper back on and then he wants to get back on so I put him back on with his clothes on this time and he is trying to push something out. The he says "all done". So today he wants to do it again so Matt puts him on. He tries to go and then says "all done."

Matt is getting ready to go to work so we are all giving him a hug. Trey says "lets be a family" and wants to have a group hug. I guess we are only a family if we are having a group hug.

Trey asks is it Fathers day today. I tell him no and he says "yes it is. it is kids father's day" He then tells me he is going to make him self a present and gets his safety kid scissors and paper and starts cutting the paper.

The the best one of the day. I am sitting on the couch folding laundry and Trey comes up to me and tells me he cut Ethan's hair. It took me a minute to process and I realize he really did. Took a chunk right in front. Right to the scalp. So we had to give Ethan a buzz. and you can still tell. I couldn't help but laugh. It was so funny. I had to hurry and call Matt and my mom. My mom asks me if I was crying or laughing. I tell her I was laughing I couldn't help but laugh. I might have been mad if he did it to a little girl. After I was done laughing we had a good talk about how only mommies and daddies cut hair and not him. Hopefully he will remember this in the future.
